SPEAKERS

Keynote Speaker

Paul brings more than 23 years of hands-on experience defending networks and outsmarting adversaries. He leads software development for Capital One’s defensive and intelligence capabilities and is the creator of ScumBots, a project dedicated to tracking and analyzing malware deployed across the open web.

His keynote, A Brief History of Crime[ware], will explore the evolution of profit-driven cybercrime—from the earliest monetization models of the 1990s to the industrial-scale operations we see today. You will gain insight into how cybercriminals make money, what has (and has not) worked to stop them, and how we might finally hit them where it hurts: their wallets.

This talk is for anyone who wants to understand not just how attackers operate—but how they profit.
